Served my NSF time in Procom, and have came into contact with the Gurkhas multiple time. Nothing but the utmost respect to the Gurkhas...very friendly and respectful men, but whenever you are around them you can feel in the air and tell that with just a switch , they'll turn into those ferocious and elite warfighters that they are known for. Class men.
i did serve my service with the SPF for my NS, while Star was recruiting its member, went to shooting range test back to back with the Star team shooting range sessions as well..
Didn't know we had so many Gurkhas, 2000 is enough to form 2 battalions... I wonder what threat would necessitate the use of even 100 highly trained and heavily armed Gurkhas, let alone 2000. Is Singapore preparing for like 50 active shooting incidents at the same time on this small island? At least we know we'd be safe in that case
I don't understand, if it's just gases, a way creation like cahoot with title of firefighter secretly to create way? To wait is to let them create endurance, but if no gases even target can go away n live like normal first? Even if have to go home to get own effort of food. What happen if like pretend salesman end up hangout with target n then take out slowly anyway? Like if they go toilet etc.
Emergency Response Team which are a new elite special tactical police unit established in 2016 which are mostly used to provide security at public places deter terrorism and respond to and deal with terrorist attacks are also part of Special Operations Command.
Hi, ERTs are regular police officers from land divisions with CT training. They mainly act as a QRF and can support the SOC if needed, but they are not part of SOC (:
Are counter assault forces under security command selected just from security command or can apply from other units? Also, gurkhas only operate under GC right? They cannot join STAR or other elite units?
would you mind explaining why the Malays are not in mostly the Navy and any special military force. Instead they're mostly in the Police Force and Civil Defense
Hi, Malays can serve in every branch of the military. As for the Navy, there is no halal-certified kitchen on ships due to space constraints. Since naval vessels have extended deployment at sea, the RSN tries not to have people with dietary contraints including vegetarians or Hindus who do not eat beef .etc, for logistical reasons. The ability to serve in sensitive units depends on security clearance (e.g having Malaysian relatives .etc)
ERTs and IRTs serve similar purpose; both are deployed for ground patrols and act as QRF. The main difference is IRTs falls under ProCom and ERTs falls under land divisions.
Yes, but they are not part of Singapore Police Force (SPF) but fall under the Singapore Prison Service (SPS) and Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) respectively.
You mean 3 burglars from malaysia tun away and landed in tekong... so tekong SAF is very easily to enter by intruders and gameover. Hahaha.. sg defence
Can understand male officers & the force need female companions & workers. It's natural to be that way but from rational perspective, it can never be a mandate or choice made by any government or polikc/airs/navag/army in place for the female recruit. The citizens in any country has the rights to decide what career, future & life they want for themselves
Nowadays SPF are sloppy and lack man power. A part from the Gurkhas, the rest of the unit are sloppy. Takes so many people to pin down a person. Its better to use the military police or the military to uphold the penal code, law and order for the country.
SPF have strict SOPs and they use many people to take a guy down to minimise injury not for the officers only, but the criminal too. If you see they never really punched anyone before
last time we can make suspects do squat jump or any tekans , now abit abit they will know how to complain or send in the lawyer letter. times are different so do the enforcement level.
when a preacher who also plays the role of trainer he trains the boys & girls to imagine that they are lions after gone thru qualified special training? But the word qualified is blinding everyone as we wana tell ourselves we're not lions. Lions don't need all these drills, they born fighters. We're humans, yes training can cultivate super fighter skills but rarely most make it. See the verdict? When it's the moment of decisive & sacrificial move, you move or stay to save lives. That's the time a real fighter appears. Of cos training hard counts alot for success but how many real trainers & real fighters are out there? hardly few.?Besides how much reward in exchange for paying one's life into training, wages are low here and promise is only Singapore PR plus retrench-proof for foreign imported workers doing the job; but not for local working people as retrenchment and unemployment everywhere especially in the manufacturing, food & beverage and logistics industry. And a real fighter (defender) protects the innocent. Profiling, bullying & outnumbering anyone doesn't make one a defender or protector of himself and of the human race. One news made tragic history, one person's move to save everybody killed all the people including himself. Weapons kills trust, love & lives; the kind naked mind doesn't kill, it heals & save lives. Humans created weapons for destroying human race

Its incomplete, we still have PCG's Special Task Squadrons (cross train with STAR unit), and SECCOM (VVIP protection officers)
If u bother to watch the video, u'll see that STS & CAU were mentioned in the video
20 years down the road, as LKY had forseen, and PermSec Bilahari mentioned our low birth rate is threat to our National Security.
I always thought girls and boys were always combined but turns out they are different teams
This video is confusing. Isnt cau look similar to the first one which is soc?

@YG from SG Thanks for the reply. Oh ok so they are not part of Special Operations Command. They are a special elite unit though.
@@johnm84 They undergo CT training once every 2 weeks. If that is your definition of "elite", then okay.

Yes, CAU draws their manpower from SecCom and all Gurkhas serve in GC.
@@YGfromSG thanks bro, great content as always 💪
You're welcome
@@YGfromSG one question. I love your video. For the SPF pistols round. Do they use hollow point or FMJ? Thank you for reading my question
@@colinwang33 I'm not sure about that as I'm not from the SPF, but I just checked with my SPF friends and they told me they use FMJ.

You roughly mentioned their roles but what about their equipment loadout? This will increase your content.
im curious if the Gurkha unit has access to kukris
